Oct 6th, 2008 · The battle for control of Wachovia bank is tilting toward Wells Fargo. A New York state appeals court has blocked a lower court ruling that favored rival bidder Citigroup. Meantime, Wachovia is asking a federal judge to declare invalid part of the Citigroup deal that would have restricted Wachovia from considering competing bids. Aug 6th, 2008 · The Justice Department has filed criminal charges against 11 suspects in what officials are calling the largest hacking and identity theft case the department has ever prosecuted. The government alleges that the ring hacked the computer systems of major retailers including TJX, OfficeMax, Barnes & Noble and Sports Authority, among others, in order to steal credit and debit card numbers. Apr 30th, 2008 · Yoko Ono is going to court over John Lennon's legacy. Her lawyers face off Thursday in Boston against the lawyers for Ray Thomas of World Wide Video, which has almost 10 hours of videotapes of Lennon smoking pot and plotting to slip LSD to Richard Nixon. At the same time, she is suing the makers of the documentary Expelled for using part of the song "Imagine" in their film about intelligent design. Andrea Shea reports from member station WBUR.
