And when that happens, a lot of the credit for keeping the talks alive will go to Bob Corker, the junior senator from Tennessee. While he's not the top Republican on the Banking Committee, this is not his first go-round when it comes to bipartisan compromise.

The wait is over; he will get a bonus valued at around $17 million according to company filing with the SEC. But instead of it being all or partly in cash, it will be in stock and options.

Feb 4th, 2010 · New York state filed civil charges against Bank of America and former CEO Ken Lewis, alleging the bank misled investors about Merrill Lynch before it bought the Wall Street bank in early 2009. A spokesman for the bank said the charges lacked merit.
