Dec 7th, 2005 · When veteran Ray Emory visited Punchbowl National Cemetery decades after the attack on Pearl Harbor, he found hundreds of graves marked "unknown." He has since dedicated his life to giving back names to the sailors who died during that attack 64 years ago.

Apr 23rd, 2005 · Two months ago, the U.S. Navy finally honored Wheeler Lipes, a former pharmacist's mate who performed a life-saving emergency appendectomy aboard a submarine in enemy waters during World War II. Lipes died this week at 84. Jennifer Ludden and Navy medical historian Jan Herman remember Lipes' life.
