Dec 30th, 2008 · Five banks were robbed Monday in New York City. Anahad O'Connor, metro and breaking-news reporter for The New York Times, says the news was "a little surreal" because last year there was fewer than one bank robbery a day in the city.
Dec 5th, 2008 · OJ Simpson faces at least six years in prison when he is sentenced Friday in Las Vegas. The state parole agency is calling for at least 18 years. In October, a jury found Simpson guilty of 12 felonies related to a robbery that he and six other men committed last year.
Oct 23rd, 2008 · A Maryland man apparently left his fingerprints at the scene of a robbery. One fingerprint in particular. Police say he used a machete to hold up an alleged brothel in Washington D.C. But before he left, one of the victims grabbed the machete and chopped off the robber's right thumb. Police fingerprinted the thumb, and later matched it to the suspect.

Simpson could spend the rest of his life in jail after being convicted in Las Vegas on Friday of 12 charges, including kidnapping and armed robbery. The verdict came 13 years to the day after Simpson was found not guilty of killing his ex-wife and a friend of hers.
