Candidate Named Barack Obama Loses In Brazil

Oct 7th, 2008 · Barack Obama has lost the election in Brazil. That country has a law that says candidates can list any name they want on the ballot. This year, at least eight people ran as Barack Obama. One wanted to be mayor of a small town outside Rio de Janeiro. He says the Obama name helped open doors for him. But according to official election records, that Barack Obama did not score a single vote. No word on whether the ballot included any John McCains.
