To get legal workers, many plants must recruit heavily. A Cargill plant in Beardstown, Illinois recently began recruiting workers from Puerto Rico.
Nov 26th, 2007 · Ingrid Marie Rivera was a contestant in the Miss Puerto Rico contest. The winner goes to the Miss Universe pageant. And somebody apparently tried to sabotage Rivera. She broke out in hives. Pageant organizers thought it was nerves at first.

Nov 15th, 2006 · Puerto Rico introduced a sales tax Wednesday. It affects prepared foods, nonprescription medicine, tobacco, soft drinks, alcohol and many other consumer goods. The tax ranges from 5.5 percent to 7 percent, depending on location.
