He's also a reservist working as a spokesman for the Israeli military. He tells Ari Shapiro that this large scale military operation should succeed in deterring Hamas rocket attacks while previous smaller operations failed.
Jan 1st, 2009 · An Army reservist who was deployed to Iraq last year has celebrated the holidays with the Iraqi he credits with keeping him alive. For more than a year, the master sergeant waited for his Iraqi translator to receive a visa to come to the U.S. Now the men and their families have formed a bond on American soil. Feb 12th, 2008 · More than half of the suicides of Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans in the past several years were among National Guard and Reserve troops. The Department of Veterans Affairs has been analyzing the suicide data since 2001 and found that Guard or Reserve members made up 53 percent of veteran suicides, according to a report Tuesday by the Associated Press. Why might the suicide rate among these troops be higher?
