May 10th, 2008 · After almost a week of refusal following a deadly cyclone, Myanmar has agreed to allow one U.S. cargo plane to make a delivery of aid. The government there is still refusing entry to worldwide aid agencies. Gordon Bacon of the International Rescue Committee is one of the few who have been able to enter the country.

Feb 11th, 2008 · Yahoo Inc. has rebuffed an unsolicited $44.6 billion takeover offer from Microsoft Corp., and offer Yahoo said "substantially undervalues" the company. Microsoft is now expected to sweeten its bid, which valued Yahoo stock at $31 a share.

Jan 17th, 2008 · Florida's top insurance regulator tells Allstate it cannot sell new auto insurance policies in the state. It's punishment for Allstate's refusal to comply with an investigation into its property insurance business. Allstate has more than 1 million auto policies in the state.

Dec 11th, 2007 · A Senate Judiciary panel on Tuesday pressed military brass and Justice Department lawyers about the interrogation technique of waterboarding, and about what goes on at the U.S. detention center at Guantanamo Bay. The officials refused to say whether waterboarding violates the Geneva Conventions, and refused to call it torture. Non-administration witnesses suggested that refusal was part of an effort to protect Americans who have carried out waterboarding.
