May 20th, 2008 · A U.S. Court of Appeals has ruled the Treasury Department is discriminating against the blind by printing money that's indistinguishable to the blind. U.S. paper money is all the same size, and there are no tactile features that would make it possible for a blind person to distinguish, say, a $10 bill from a $20. The decision could force the Treasury Department to redesign U.S. bills.
May 10th, 2008 · The sculpture of Martin Luther King Jr. intended for a memorial on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., is too "confrontational," according to the U.S. Commission of Fine Arts. The commission's approval is necessary for any monument or memorial in the capital. The commission says the sculpture needs to be reworked.

The change is the latest in Chavez's effort to revolutionize the country, which he has renamed the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. Chavez also redesigned the flag; he is set to launch a new currency next year.
