Nov 15th, 2006 · They say rock and roll has the power to change lives. In the Central Asian country of Tuva, it has changed Albert Kuvezin. It propelled him to lead the band Yat-Kha, who mix traditional Tuvan throat singing with the spirit of rock. Recuperating from an illness, he went through the music he loved and found the inspiration for the CD Re-Covers, an album of cover songs that have a distinctly Tuvan twist. Chris Nickson reports.

Aug 15th, 2006 · U.S. officials say the newly released photos of a recuperating Fidel Castro show his condition to be approximately as the Cuban government claimed it was. In the two-week period following his surgery, the Cuban government appeared steady. The government's performance raises questions about predictions that Castro's death will bring rapid change on the island. Tom Gjelten reports.

Aug 2nd, 2006 · Cuban government broadcasts say Fidel Castro is recuperating from surgery for an intestinal disorder -- and in good spirits -- but there has not been an indication of when the Cuban leader might return to power. No photos or video of Castro were released. Castro has temporarily handed control of the government over to his younger brother, Raul.
