College Trustees' Art Sale Enrages Students, Staff

Oct 6th, 2007 · On Monday, the board of trustees of Randolph College voted to sell at auction four works from its valuable collection of American art -- despite a pending lawsuit filed by alumni and former staff at the school's Maier Museum to block the sale of artworks. The director of the museum resigned in protest the next day, calling the removal of the paintings a "raid." Joel Rose of member station WHYY reports.
