Sep 1st, 2008 · Queena Kim's mother was part of the first-wave of Koreans who came to Los Angeles in the 1960s. Back then, few Koreans were let into the United States and many entered with student visas. The dream was to pursue an education. But making a living and raising a family got in the way.
