Feb 25th, 2010 · It's not very often that a young, up-and-coming band produces a fully developed, 17-track album. But the Athens, Georgia group Hope For Agoldensummer is wonderfully prolific. The band's members have produced a live album, two full-lengths, and they're now mixing a third. Their most recent LP, the lovely, meandering Ariadne Thread, plods effortlessly through 17 songs that are all extremely headphone-friendly.
Nov 16th, 2009 · Paul Allen, who founded the software giant with Bill Gates, has been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. The 56-year-old Allen is a prolific investor in real estate, technology companies and sports teams. He owns football's Seattle Seahawks and basketball's Portland Trail Blazers.

His music, a beautifully finessed mix of acoustic instruments, analog drum machines and digital textures, is invariably thoughtful, carefully crafted and affecting. He's prolific, too: Vanderslice has released an album nearly every year this decade, and his latest (Romanian Names) is his most inspired so far. Oct 1st, 2009 · Carnegie Hall kicks off its season in New York with a new work by prolific Hollywood composer John Williams. It's a concerto for harp and orchestra, and Williams wrote it specifically for Ann Hobson Pilot. For the past 40 years she's been the Principal Harpist for the Boston Symphony Orchestra. She was the first African American woman to win a seat with the BSO, and one of the first in any major symphony. Now she's ready to enjoy the music from a new perspective- the audience's.
Sep 9th, 2009 · The Blueprint 3 is the latest release by rapper Jay-Z; it's the second sequel to one of his best-known releases, 2001's The Blueprint. It's also Jay-Z's 11th solo album in 13 years, making him one of hip-hop's most prolific artists. Reviewer Oliver Wang suggests that, even this far into his career, the rapper is still finding ways to stay on top.
Aug 5th, 2009 · A 4-ounce baby with "a really good set of lungs" is the fifth born to 17-year-old Bai Yun (White Cloud). The cub is just the 14th panda in the United States. Bai Yun's ability to regularly produce children sets her apart from most of her endangered species.
