Jan 29th, 2007 · The first and only Catholic priest to be elected to Congress has died. Father Robert Drinan was a Vietnam War critic and a Jesuit priest who served for 10 years in the U.S. House of Representatives, until Pope John Paul II ordered him to chose between Congress or the priesthood. Drinan, who was 86, died Sunday.

Nov 23rd, 2005 · A much-anticipated Vatican document says sexually active gay men should not be allowed to become Roman Catholic priests. The official document was expected to be released next week, but was leaked early.
Nov 22nd, 2005 · The Vatican says practicing homosexuals and those with strong tendencies toward homosexuality should not be allowed to enter the priesthood. According to a leaked document confirmed by the Vatican, gay men who are sexually active or support "gay culture" will be unwelcome in seminary unless they have overcome their homosexual tendencies for at least three years.
Oct 5th, 2005 · In a few weeks the Vatican is expected to issue a ruling banning gay men from entering the seminary. We talk with a gay priest, who has asked to go unnamed.
