Jan 12th, 2008 · Speaking at a U.S. military base in Kuwait, President George W. Bush said Saturday that hope is returning to Iraq because of the additional U.S. troops he ordered there. The president also said the United States is on track to withdraw 20,000 troops from Iraq by mid-year. NPR's Scott Simon speaks with NPR's Michele Kelemen.

Jul 3rd, 2007 · President George W. Bush is defending his decision to commute the sentence of I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, Vice President Dick Cheney's former chief of staff. Libby was convicted of lying and obstructing justice after an investigation into the leak of the identity of CIA operative Valerie Plame. He had been sentenced to 2 1/2 years in federal prison.
