Feb 19th, 2010 · Before whales, when dinosaurs roamed the Earth, giant filter-feeding fish swam the prehistoric seas. By going back and searching through museums for misunderstood or overlooked fossil specimens, a researcher found evidence that these fish swam the Earth for more than 100 million years — far longer than scientists had previously thought.

Members of a local tribe believe that there is a spear in the mastodon, which would be hard evidence that humans hunted the prehistoric elephant-like animals.

May 13th, 2007 · Cahokia Mounds are just east of St. Louis and stand on what was once the largest prehistoric city north of central Mexico. Monk Mound is the largest remaining earthen mound. As you stand on Monk Mound, you can see a modern mound -- the Milam landfill. Its owner now wants to expand and put a landfill just 2,000 feet from the ancient mound.
