Jun 9th, 2008 · Fast-food giant McDonald's says it has stopped serving sliced tomatoes in all of its sandwiches in the United States over fears of salmonella poisoning. The company said the precaution will remain in place until the source of the salmonella is found. Michele Norris talks to Dr. Patricia N. Griffin, chief of the Enteric Diseases Epidemiology Branch of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta. Feb 14th, 2007 · Some companies are taking precautions when it comes to office romances. One San Francisco lawyer has drafted about 1,000 "love contracts," which ask lovebirds to acknowledge that the relationship is consensual and that both sides have read the company's sexual harassment policy. The idea is to protect the company from liability if an affair ends up in a lawsuit, or generates bad publicity. The Los Angeles Times says love contracts are common in the entertainment industry, usually involving senior executives.
