With the picture missing, we ask people near the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., to give voice to "The Scream" itself and tell us why the subject was screaming.
Aug 11th, 2004 · Commentator Alison Klayman is an admirer of the Vermont band Phish. The group is ending its career this month, and Klayman is sad. She's a relatively new "phishhead." She paints a picture of what a Phish concert is like. Many fans take drugs, bond and take part in enhancing the performance.
Jul 28th, 2004 · His new book is Picture This: Debby Harry and Blondie. Rock photographed many musicians before they were famous. The British-born photographer took pictures of Lou Reed, Brian Eno and Ziggy Stardust (aka David Bowie) when he was just a cult figure in London. His book Blood and Glitter is about the Glam Rock era.
Jun 26th, 2004 · NPR's Scott Simon talks to actor Kevin Kline, who stars as Cole Porter in the new motion picture about the man and his music, De-Lovely. Kline made a stunning dramatic film debut in Sophie's Choice, but he may be best known for his roles in the film comedies A Fish Called Wanda and In and Out. He's also won Tony Awards for his Broadway performances in On the 20th Century and Pirates of Penzance.
