Program Offers Free Housing to Homeless ****
May 12th, 2007 · A new approach to reducing the number of homeless people across the country is yielding dramatic results. Cities ranging from New York to Houston have been providing free housing to the chronically homeless, and are discovering that it actually saves money. NPR's Scott Simon talks to Philip Mangano of the US Interagency Council on Homelessness about this new approach to an old problem.
