The vice presidential nominee attacked Barack Obama, praised John McCain and pushed back against criticism that she is too inexperienced to be on the ticket. Jun 11th, 2008 · Police Chief Cathy Lanier says the city's Trinidad neighborhood has seen a spike in homicides, mostly as a result of drive-by shootings from "rival crews" from outside the area. Last weekend, the police set up a checkpoint in the neighborhood to deter outsiders. The ACLU has protested the move, but Lanier says the checkpoint is working.
