Aug 31st, 2006 · Norwegian police are reporting the recovery of two paintings that they believe are Edvard Munch's "The Scream" and "Madonna." The paintings were stolen from an Oslo museum in a daylight raid in 2004. Police recovered the paintings this afternoon. They "believe these are the originals," but are awaiting expert authentication.
