Oct. 12: Ra Ra Riot, Live In Concert

Pakistan's Musharraf to Seek New Term in Oct. 6 Vote

Sep 20th, 2007 · President Gen. Pervez Musharraf will seek a new five-year term in elections scheduled for Oct. 6, brushing aside opposition objections and concerns about his waning popularity. Musharraf, who seized power in a 1999 coup, has signaled his intension to resign his post as army chief if re-elected.

U.N.: Record Number of Iraqi Civilians Killed in Oct.

Nov 22nd, 2006 · The United Nations reports that more than 3,700 Iraqi civilians were killed in October, the highest monthly number since the 2003 U.S. invasion. The U.N. said the influence of militias was growing, and torture continued to be rampant, despite the government's vow to address human rights abuses.

Iraq's Sunnis Threaten to Boycott Oct. 15 Vote
