Apr 16th, 2008 · South Jersey guitarist Brian Mietz writes and records under the name, It's A King Thing. Citing Weezer, the Beatles and Nirvana among his influences, the 25 year old musician makes a mix of jangly, melodic pop and rock with plenty of power chords. It's A King Thing produced ten tracks for the RPM Challenge and an album called Proper Nouns, featuring the song "Old Hobbies."

Jun 1st, 2007 · Evan M. O'Dorney is the 2007 champion of the 80th annual Scripps National Spelling Bee. Last night, the 13-year-old beat out 286 champion spellers from around the world by spelling "serrefine," a noun of French origin describing the small forceps used in surgical procedures. Robert Siegel talks with O'Dorney, a home-schooled eighth grader from Danville, Calif., who won a $35,000 prize, a $5,000 scholarship, and a $2,500 savings bond, in addition to a complete set of reference works.
