Nov 19th, 2008 · The Navajo Nation opens its first casino Wednesday in Arizona. It's the first of six casinos the tribe is planning in Arizona and New Mexico. There are concerns among the Navajo, that they waited too long to get into the casino business. Daniel Kraker reports for Arizona Public Radio.
Nov 5th, 2008 · Democrat Tom Udall of New Mexico and Democrat Mark Udall of Colorado were elected to the Senate. The cousins beat their Republican opponents. They discuss their victories with Steve Inskeep, as well as how things are going for the Democratic Party in New Mexico and Colorado.
Nov 4th, 2008 · Republican presidential hopeful John McCain casts his own ballot Tuesday morning in Phoenix, and then travels to the Rocky Mountain battlegrounds of Colorado and New Mexico to rally supporters and thank volunteers. McCain has scarcely slept since Sunday morning. He campaigned in seven battleground states Monday.

Oct 27th, 2008 · Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama spent the weekend in Colorado, Nevada and New Mexico, trying to turn those states blue. They went for President Bush in 2004. Obama has been urging the huge crowds that turn out at his rallies to vote early.

Oct 7th, 2008 · The 1864 cyclorama painting, "The Battle of Gettysburg," is on display in a new visitors center. The National Park Service wants to demolish the old building but it was designed by Richard Neutra, one of the most important figures of modern architecture. Neutra's son has filed a lawsuit to force the Park Service to reconsider its decision. Alex Schmidt reports for member station WHYY. (6) McCain: There Are Unanswered Questions About Obama — The Democrat and Republican presidential hopefuls debate Tuesday in Nashville, Tenn. On Monday, Republican John McCain campaigned in New Mexico, arguing that Barack Obama is inexperienced and raised questions about Obama's past relationships.
