Sudan's President Pardons British Teacher

Dec 3rd, 2007 · A British teacher convicted of insulting Islam is free after being pardoned by Sudan's president. Gillian Gibbons was found guilty of insulting Islam after allowing her students to name a teddy bear Muhammad. President Omar al-Bashir pardoned Gibbons after two British Muslim politicians from the House of Lords met with him to plead for her release.
