The Math Behind Pellicano's Code *

Jul 1st, 2006 · NPR's Scott Simon talks with Weekend Edition's Math Guy, Keith Devlin, about the Anthony Pellicano case. Pellicano was a private eye to the stars; he has been charged with illegally wiretapping on behalf of his clients. The government, which is prosecuting the case, says that the illegal taps are recorded on Pellicano's computer, which is encrypted with a code that the government cannot break.
