"I work with Marian, and we talk about music a lot" says Berger. "She doesn't play any instruments, or sing, but I thought we could operate like the postpunk group Scritti Politti, wherein I would write the music under her guidance (and excellent musical taste) and then record it."

Mar 10th, 2006 · Mission controllers at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif., burst into applause as the Reconnaissance Orbiter arrives safely to Mars. Only about two-thirds of NASA's Mars missions have survived. The spacecraft is supposed to gather more information about Mars than all previous missions combined.

It's designed to view the entire planet from an altitude of about 200 miles. But first it has to arrive safely, and that's been no easy feat for missions to Mars.
