Aug 26th, 2007 · A California family is suffering the loss of a second son in the Iraq war. Twenty-one year-old Nathan Hubbard was killed in last week's crash of a Blackhawk helicopter. His brother Marine Lance Cpl. Jared Hubbard was killed by a roadside bomb in Ramadi in 2004. A third brother is still deployed in Iraq, but he is returning home now to be with his family.
Mar 18th, 2007 · Across the nation, small towns are feeling the personal cost of war. Seaford, Del., with a population under 7,000, has lost three young men to the war in Iraq. Marine Lance Cpl. Rick James was one of them.
Nov 2nd, 2006 · Kathy Witkowsky has a remembrance of 20-year-old Marine Lance Cpl. Jeremy Monroe, who was shot and killed by a sniper in Haditha. Monroe, who grew up in the small town of Chinook, Mont., served in Afghanistan before he was sent to Iraq.
May 29th, 2006 · The Naval Criminal Investigative Service is probing the alleged unprovoked killings of 24 civilians last November by U.S. Marines in the insurgent hotbed of Haditha, Iraq. The dead include women and children. According to news accounts, the killings were in retaliation for the death of Marine Lance Cpl. Miguel Terrazas, Jr. On this Memorial Day, the Terrazas family is struggling with the scandal that has overshadowed his death.
Feb 7th, 2006 · Marine Lance Cpl. Brandon Christopher Dewey is the fifth serviceman from the small town of Tracy, Calif., to die in Iraq. A car bomber killed Dewey, 20, in Haqlaniyah, just north of Baghdad. Earlier this week, he was buried with honors in his hometown.
Jan 22nd, 2006 · Marine Lance Cpl. Ryan McCurdy, 21, died when he was shot in the chest in Fallujah. With a love of action and sports, his friends say that Ryan was born to be a Marine. Karen Henderson of member station WRKF in Baton Rouge has a remembrance.
Nov 9th, 2005 · Marine Lance Cpl. Sergio Escobar of Pasadena, Calif., was killed in October by a roadside bomb while serving in Iraq. Reporter Gloria Hillard has this remembrance.
Feb 24th, 2005 · Marine Lance Cpl. Jason Redifer was killed at age 19 in Iraq the day after the Iraqi elections. Corporal Redifer grew up on a dairy farm in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley and worked three jobs to help pay his way through a private school in the area.
