May 1st, 2008 · Daniela Schaechter, born in Italy, won the 2005 Mary Lou Williams Piano Competition at the Kennedy Center. The prize was a booking at the next year's Mary Lou Williams Women in Jazz Festival, now on JazzSet. Schaechter features music from her CD, I Colori del Mare The Colors of the Sea.
