Edwards Tells of Anniversary, Haircut on 'Tonight Show'

Jun 26th, 2007 · Presidential candidate John Edwards appeared on the Tonight Show along with his wife Elizabeth, which caused host Jay Leno to ask about the couple's tradition of celebrating their anniversary at fast food restaurant Wendy's. "Now that you're successful, do you get the double burger?" asked Leno. "Well see, you can't spend money on food when you're spending money on haircuts." Edwards responded to howling laughter of the audience. He was mocked after his campaign paid for him to get a $400 haircut. He later repaid the campaign.
