Vang Pao Appears in Court on Laos Charges ****

Jun 11th, 2007 · Gen. Vang Pao, a leader of the Hmong immigrant community in America, will appear in a Sacramento courtroom Monday. Vang Pao is charged with trying to overthrow the government of Laos. The general's defense attorney Thomas Heffelfinger, says Vang Pao will plead not guilty.

Hmong Anti-Communist Fighters Leaving the Jungle ****

Jun 16th, 2005 · Failed anti-communist fighters are beginning to emerge from the jungles of Laos, 30 years after defeat. The fighters once worked with the CIA to overthrow the communist government of Laos -- and ran for their lives after the communists won in 1975 -- are finally beginning to leave the jungles of Laos and re-enter society.
