Jul 5th, 2006 · Thousands of vacationers were turned away from casinos in Atlantic City today. New Jersey lawmakers still haven't reached agreement on a new state budget. The resulting government shut-down spread this morning to casinos when state casino inspectors were forced off the job by the impasse. Thousands of state workers are off the job. The state court system, state parks and beaches, and numerous other services are also closed.
