Dec 5th, 2005 · For more than 30 years, The Homecoming has been a Christmas staple on cable TV. Earl Hamner wrote the script based loosely on his life growing up in rural Virginia. It spawned a popular series, The Waltons. Now there is a new, more realistic adaptation of the story for the stage.
