Oct 22nd, 2008 · The U.S. military said Tuesday it is dropping charges against five Guantanamo Bay detainees. Also, Defense Secretary Robert Gates said that the detainee camp in Cuba will not be closed before President Bush leaves office.
Oct 8th, 2008 · A judge on Tuesday ordered the release of 17 Chinese Muslims held at Guantanamo Bay and told the Bush administration to produce them in court Friday. The administration is appealing the order. If the attempt fails, the case likely will head to the Supreme Court.
Oct 7th, 2008 · The Bush administration suffered another dramatic loss in court on Tuesday over its handling of Guantanamo detainees. A federal judge has ordered the release of 17 detainees into the U.S. The detainees are Chinese Muslims, known as Uighurs.

Aug 29th, 2008 · A civilian jury in Riverside, Calif., has acquitted a former Marine on charges of voluntary manslaughter. Jose Nazario Jr. was accused of killing unarmed Iraqi detainees in Fallujah, Iraq, in 2004.
