Dec 9th, 2008 · Tribune Co. which owns the Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, The Baltimore Sun and other dailies has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The conglomerate also owns TV stations, the Chicago Cubs and Wrigley Field. It's been crushed by a drop in advertising and $13 billion in debt.

Nov 8th, 2006 · Bill Marimow, a former Baltimore Sun editor who most recently served as ombudsman at National Public Radio, will become the editor of The Philadelphia Inquirer. Marimow, the former managing editor for NPR's national news division, replaces editor Amanda Bennett at the Inquirer, where he once served as city editor. Bennett will step down at the end of the year from her post at the city's largest newspaper.
