Jul 19th, 2007 · There was asbestos on debris and in the dust that spewed out of a New York City street when a steam pipe ruptured, but city officials said Thursday no asbestos has been found in the air. One woman died of an apparent heart attack when the pipe erupted, an incident that reminded many people of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. About 30 people were injured, at least four seriously.
